Zinc flake coating for fasteners

The standard finish for high-strength automotive and industrial fasteners — because it delivers cathodic corrosion protection without hydrogen embrittlement, in a film thin enough to preserve thread fit.

Zinc flake is specified for property class 10.9 and above because the coating is applied by dip-spin and cured thermally — no electric current means no atomic hydrogen at the surface, which eliminates the embrittlement mechanism that rules out conventional electroplating for high-strength steel.
